Homelessness is no longer confined to a handful of major cities. Across the United States, communities large and small are facing growing numbers of people living on streets, in vehicles, and in temporary shelters. Rising housing costs, addiction, untreated mental illness, family instability, and gaps in treatment services have created a crisis that reaches far beyond the loss of housing alone.
